Gold valued Rs 1.31 cr seized, two held at Kannur Int’l Airport

Kannur, Feb 11 (Agency) Air Customs sleuths seized 2247 grams of gold valued around Rs 1.31 crores from two passengers, who arrived from Abu Dhabi at Kannur International Airport in Air India Express flight on Saturday.

Customs Deputy Commissioner E V Sivaraman – led a team detained, Abdul Hakeem of Nadapuram in Kozhikide district and seized 1548 grams of smuggled gokd valued around Rs 88 lakhs, which was concealed inside the micro oven , while 699 grams of gold valued around 43 lakhs seized from Muhammed Musthafa of Periya in Kasaragod district, which was concealed also in microwave oven and card board sheets.
