New Delhi, Feb 10 (Agency) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the Indian teams of NDRF personnel and doctors involved in rescue and relief operations in quake-hit Turkiye are working day and night as part of ‘Operation Dost’ and would continue giving their best to save lives.
The Prime Minister said that India stands firmly with the people of Turkiye, where a 7.8-Richter temblor on Monday has led to around 20,000 deaths and devastated cities. His comments came as the Indian Army’s 30-bedded field hospital in Iskenderun has so far treated 106 people in the Turkish city that has been hard hit in the earthquake. “Our teams are working day and night as a part of ‘Operation Dost.’ They will keep giving their best to ensure maximum lives and property are saved. In this critical time, India stands firmly with the people of Türkiye,” the PM said in a tweet. MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi in a tweet posted videos of Indian personnel treating patients at the field hospital, and posted: “The Indian Army team of medical specialists is on the job 24×7, providing relief to those injured.”
