New Delhi, Feb 10 (Agency) Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday categorically said the Opposition will continue to raise the Adani Group issue in the Parliament. Several Opposition parties including Congress have been demanding to the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre to either constitute a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) or set up an inquiry under the Chief Justice of Supreme Court to look into the Hindenburg Research report, which alleged that Adani Group had engaged in stock manipulation and accounting fraud scheme over the course of decades.
Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters, Kharge, who is also the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Rajya Sabha, said, “Seventeen Opposition parties at a meeting held recently discussed this issue (Adani). We demanded a JPC probe over the matter.” “It is our duty to ask the government. We will keep continuing to raise this issue,” Kharge said. Attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Congress president asked why he is silent on the questions asked by the Opposition over the matter.
