Kangra, Jan 13 (Representative) The life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda are more relevant today when the nation needed more spiritual strength to combat adverse forces from within and outside and Vivekananda Jayanti here is focused on the younger generation in order to bring them close to their spiritual and cultural roots.Kewal Singh Pathania, MLA Shahpur, today said this during Vivekananda Jayanti program organized by local branch of Vivekananda Kendra Kanaya Kumari in connection with 160th birthday of Swami Vivekananda at Dronacharya PG College of Education at Rait Shahpur today. He said that the character of Swami Vivekananda was an inspiration to the youth and his teachings were contemporary. He said that youth could cultivate the qualities of courage and spiritual strength by following his teachings as his thoughts were very scientific in nature. He said that greatest service will be do their job in their respective fields honestly and sincerely.
Swami Madhvanand Acharya Chinmay Mission, Patiala Punjab, who presided over the function said that Swami Vivekananda is major source of inspiration being a matchless personality. He stressed on the youth to adher to his teachings as these teachings were more relevant now in view of the present national and global scenario. He also stressed for becoming useful citizen and render good service to the humanity through this one can realize God. He stressed on youth to resort to ‘ Nishkam Karma Yog’ for their bright future. He also stressed upon the importance of social service and added that up liftment of society and individual was possible through selfless service. He described the scenes of World Religious conference in his words. Manas Bhattacharya Uttar Prant Sangathak, who was guest of honour said that youth of India are capable of doing the best but they require proper guidance for coming closer to their cultural roots.
Ashok Raina Sanchalak Uttar Prant Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari gave a call to the youth to Arise Away and stop not till the goal is reached. He narrated Swami visit to Kashmir and also narrated different incidents of his life. Fifteen students of different schools and colleges from Kàngra and Mandi districts who had bagged different positions in the MCGKA. Competition organised by Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari branch Kangra on November 20, last year, were distributed certificats, momentos and prize books by the guests. Er. PR Agnihotri, 93, was also give a life time award for his contribution to the society through nishkaam Karmayog. The function was attended by people of different walks of life and large number of youths were also present.
