Meeting held for renovation of Martyr’s Memorial and War Museum

Dharamshala, Jan 11 (Representative) The beautification and construction works on the Martyr’s Memorial and War Museum at Dharamshala will be completed at a fast pace, Deputy Commissioner Kangra Dr. Nipun Jindal said this in a review meeting organized with various departments regarding the renovation of Martyr’s Memorial and War Museum. Members of Public Works Department, Jal Shakti Department, Forest Department along with Sainik Welfare and Martyrs Memorial Committee participated in the meeting held at War Museum Dharamshala. Presiding over the meeting, DC Kangra directed all the stakeholders to speed up the construction work by completing all the formalities for the restoration of the monument. He informed that the work of renovation and beautification of the Martyr’s Memorial will be done at a cost of about Rs 55 lakh. In which the work is about to be completed in the first phase at a cost of about Rs 20 lakh. He told that along with this, the rest of the work in the second phase will also be completed at a fast pace.

He said that all possible help is being provided by the district administration for the beautification of the martyr’s memorial. He said that the district administration will always be available for any kind of cooperation in future also. War museum displays the valor and sacrifice of the army. He said that the war museum adjacent to the martyr’s memorial displays the valor and sacrifice of the army. He said that in this too, efforts are on to keep all the arrangements in check. He said that facilities have been provided to the people visiting the war museum to provide information related to the valor and war history of the army. In which the collection, conservation, interpretation and exhibition of military equipment related to the historical significance of the army’s wars and conflicts have been done. He told that different incidents and wars are being told through audio-video here in Hindi and English languages. So that every person who comes here takes with them a living experience of the bravery of an army.

The Deputy Commissioner said that a large number of tourists visit Dharamshala. Along with them, efforts also need to be made so that the local people also know the contribution of the army through the War Museum. For this, he directed the operators to keep the war museum open on Sundays and holidays and extend its timings till 6 pm. He told that many equipment related to the army and wars have been kept in the war museum. He told that in order to beautify it further, ancient weapons used in war will also be kept here in the coming times. During this, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kangra Gandharva Rathore, SDM Dharamshala Shilpi Bekta, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Vibhag Anish Thakur, Colonel KKS Dadhwal and officers of various departments were present.
