French Foreign Minister meets PM

New Delhi, Sep 14 (Agency) Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Catherine Colonna called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday and conveyed message of friendship and cooperation from President Macron. Besides discussion on bilateral and other issues of mutual interest, the Minister conveyed President Macron’s message of friendship and cooperation to the Prime Minister, the PMO said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi fondly recalled his recent meetings with President Macron in Paris and Schloss Elmau, Germany, and conveyed his desire to welcome the President in India at an early opportunity, the PMO added.

The French Foreign Minister Colonna is on an official visit to India from September 13-15. She also had a Ministerial Meeting with External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar. Addressing a joint press conference with Colonna, Jaishankar said that his conversations with the French Foreign Minister covered many concerns including the conflict in Ukraine, the tensions in the Indo-Pacific, the consequences of the Covid pandemic, developments in Afghanistan and the prospects of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. India and France have agreed towards the establishment of Indo-Pacific Trilateral Development Cooperation that would facilitate development projects specially in the framework of the International Solar Alliance.
