New Delhi, Sep 12 (Agency) The 8th edition of the International Exhibition of Pharma and Healthcare (IPHEX), a flagship event of the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (PHARMEXCIL), will be held at Noida from September 21 to 23. The 3-day event is being organised with the support of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, and CDSCO, Ministry of Health. Pharmexcil with the vision of access to quality and affordable generics globally the first IPHEX was organised in 2013 and hosted seven editions of IPHEX successfully at major cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad, New Delhi and Ahmedabad, said PHARMEXCIL Director General Ravi Uday Bhaskar and IPHEX Chairman Dr. Chava Satyanaraya said in a joint press conference here on Monday. The event was attended by 4500 plus foreign delegates including Regulatory officials, public procurement agencies and importers from 100 plus countries, 3500 exhibitors and 1Lac plus visitors over these years, they said.
The event has created synergy and confidence in pharmaceutical companies across the globe to network, collaborate and source supplies from the Indian pharmaceutical industry. Unlike many international events, IPHEX is a niche event with exclusive one-to-one business meetings and deliberations with regulatory officials covering NAFTA, EU, Africa, ASEAN, CIS, LAC and WANA regions, they informed. Launching the 8th edition of IPHEX, a special edition being organised on the occasion of celebration of 75 years of Indian independence, with Exhibition, Business Meetings and an exclusive “Global Regulators Conclave” inviting delegates from over 120 countries, they said this exhibition offers excellent opportunities to explore business collaboration, and technology transfers .The special focus of this edition is Global Regulators Conclave with the theme “International Regulatory Convergence to Promote Accessibility and Affordability of Quality Medicines In this edition 350 Indian exporters are exhibiting their products and expecting 700 overseas buyers from more than 100 countries. We are also expecting 75 regulators from more than 50 countries and nearly 100 national regulators; probably it’s a first of its kind event organised anywhere in the world, they said.
In addition to the business meetings we are also organising number of panel discussions including on India Sourced Generic Drugs-Global Expectations ; Learning from Covid 19 Pandemic-Regulatory Enablers for Fast Track Approvals and Supply Chain Resiliency and Regulatory preparedness for Healthcare Emergencies; Accessibility, Affordability and Equitable Distribution of Covid 19 Vaccines &Therapeutics ; Migrating from Routine to Risk Based Inspections -Optimising the Human Resources in Post Pandemic and Effective Use of Pharmacopoeias The DCGI will lead the discussions along with state and central regulators .This regulatory conclave will provide an opportunity to the Indian industry to interact with international regulators and Indian regulators with International regulators. This conference certainly will help showcase the capabilities of the Indian pharmaceutical industry and also build up confidence among the global regulators and international public procurement agencies . We exported USD 24.6 Bn in Fy 21-22 .The Department of Commerce has given a target of USD 27. 43 billion for FY 22-23 and we are optimistic that we can achieve the target, they added.
