Digital revolution in forefront: CM Yogi

Lucknow, Sep 5 (Agency) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday while addressing the Ashwamedh-Elara India Dialogue 2022 virtually said Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a ‘forerunner’ in bringing digital revolution to India. Speaking on ‘UP: Model State for Future India’, the CM said the state has stepped forward as a leader in data collection and that about 45 percent of the total mobile manufacturing in India is done in the state. “UP is a state with limitless possibilities offering growth opportunities in all sectors. It is emerging as a ‘model state’ for New India,” he said. Maintaining that under his government the law and order situation has witnessed massive improvement in the last five years, Yogi said, “UP, today, has rule of law. A dedicated single window system, ‘Nivesh Mitra’ has been developed offering numerous services to improve the ease of doing business.

Besides, over 500 reforms have been made in labour and investor regulation. About 1,400 compliances of 40 departments have been cancelled.” He said to increase investment, the state has also been working on a new industrial policy while many reforms have been made in terms of land bank. “To develop world-class infrastructure in UP, Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors are being built. Currently, there are 13 expressways in the state, out of which 6 have been completed and 7 are in process. Over 25 airways are being developed for seamless air connectivity,” he said. Yogi pointed out that UP has about 26 percent share in mobile manufacturing in India. “The state has received a large number of investment proposals in the field of data centers.

To attract global investment the state is going to organise Global Investor Summit in January,” he said. Stating that UP is emerging as a capable and stronger economy, the CM said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of making India a 5 trillion dollar economy and that being the most populous state, UP must contribute effectively by becoming an economy of 1 trillion dollar by 2027. The CM said educational institutions like IIT Kanpur, IIT BHU and IIM Lucknow are promoting innovation in the state. “The Government of India has declared UP as the leading state in the field of startups. Till 2017-2022, projects worth Rs 3.44 lakh crore have been completed in UP, which have created as many as 15.52 lakh jobs,” he said. On the occasion, Raj Bhatt, president of Ashwamedh-Elara India Dialogue, who participated virtually, appreciated the measures taken by CM Yogi Adityanath. He said UP has got a new dimension under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath and that various industrialists are willing to invest in the state due to the presence of an investor-friendly environment.
