Jammu, Aug 29 (FN Agency) Ahead of its participation in the World Skate Games scheduled in October, the Indian men’s team is sweating hard in the training camp at Skating Rink, Maulana Azad Stadium here. This is the second training camp being organised by the Roller Skating Federation of India as earlier the first camp was held from June 15 to 30 at Patiala. On Sunday, Additional Director General of Police, Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh boosted skaters who are undergoing the training camp by facilitating them with memontoes and presenting T-Shirts.
Cheering up the contingent, Singh, who himself is an athlete and a sports promoter, extended best wishes to them for the prestigious international competition. “Stay focussed, play your game and give your best,” Singh gave the ‘mantra’ of success to the trainers.Sharing details, Head Coach of the team, Rajesh Anand (Deputy Superintendent of Police in J&K Police) told UNI, “it is an honour for Jammu and Kashmir UT that such level of camp is being organised by Roller Skating Federation of India, hosted by J&K Roller Skating Association and supported by J&K Sports Council in collaboration with J&K Police from from August 20 to 31.”
He said that the Indian Junior Men and Junior Men Roller Hockey Team will be participating in World Skate Games to be held in Buenos Aires and San Juan, Argentina from October 24 to November 13. Notably, Roller Skating Federation of India has authorised, Rajesh Anand, who is also an International player and captain of Indian Roller hockey team to conduct the camp in Jammu under his supervision. “The spirits of the team are very high. We are sure that the team work and synergy among players will hopefully earn rewards for the country at the international forum,” expressed Anand.However, Secretary, Roller Skating Federation of India, Naresh Sharma and President, J&K Roller Skating Association, G S Khurmi thanked the J&K Sports Council Secretary, Nuzhat Gul and J&K Police for all logistic support and motivating the skaters.
