Bhopal, Jan 16 (Representative) Bhopal-based Jagran Lakecity University (JLU) and Wizcraft MIME, a communication and entertainment company, on Friday inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), to launch Central India’s first entertainment and events school – Jagran Wizcraft MIME School of Entertainment and Events. The school will operate under the varsity’s umbrella flagship, Faculty of Journalism and Creative Studies.
It shall offer a distinct model of hands-on learning with strong focus on industry and global engagement in the entertainment and events space.
With a commitment to prepare the next generation of creative thinkers and practitioners, the key UG & PG programmes under this school are industry-focused, practice-based and taught by a specialist community of leading practitioners, the private varsity said in a statement here. Speaking on the occasion, Keynote Speaker for the event, filmmaker Subhas Ghai, who joined the session virtually, congratulated both JLU and Wizcraft for coming together to set up the much-needed university led degree programmes and a dedicated School for Entertainment & Event. Jagran Wizcraft MIME School of Entertainment& Events shall offer BA (Honours) – Entertainment and Events and MA – Entertainment & Events, which will involve a global network of creative media professionals, regular communication and events initiatives, professional development opportunities and platforms to connect with the industry, it added. Speaking on the occasion, Sabbas Joseph, Co-Founder and Director, Wizcraft International Entertainment, said ‘’Wizcraft is now focused on developing the next generation of event industry specialists, which will help in educating the next-gen, and develop skills that the earlier generation only learnt through on-the-job project work.
