Spreading black magic: PM attacks Cong over Aug 5 protest

New Delhi, August 10 (FN Agency) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday attacked the Congress over it’s August 5 protests against price rise in black clothes, saying “it was an attempt to spread black magic mentality and that some people are trapped in the vortex of negativity”. Speaking while inaugurating the 2nd generation (2G) Ethanol Plant in Panipat via video-conferencing, he said that during the Amrit Mahotsav when the entire country is painted in the colour of the Tricolour, an attempt has been made to defame this holy occasion and to humiliate our brave freedom fighters. “It is important to understand the mentality of such people. There are some people in our country too who are trapped in the vortex of negativity, immersed in despair.

Even after lying against the government, the public is not ready to trust such people. In such desperation, these people are also seen turning towards black magic,” the Prime Minister said. “Those who think that by wearing black clothes, their period of despair will end are unaware that irrespective of the black magic and their belief in superstition, the public’s trust will never be restored in them,” he added. Earlier, Home Minister Amit Shah had accused the Congress of appeasement after the August 5 protest. He said that black clothes were chosen since it was the foundation ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Reacting over the Prime Minister’s jibe, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh termed him ‘Jumla Jeevi’. “They could not do anything to bring black money, now they are making a meaningless issue about black clothes. The country wants the Prime Minister to talk about their problems but Jumla Jeevi keeps speaking anything,” Jairam Ramesh said in a tweet. The 2nd generation (2G) Ethanol Plant will utilise about 2 lakh tonnes of rice straw (parali) annually to generate around 3 crore litres of Ethanol annually- thereby dispose of the stubble without burning.
