CBI files case against ex-IOC president, 3 others

New Delhi, July 19 (Bureau) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a case against four persons, including former President of Indian Olympic Association (IOA), former Executive Director, former President, former Secretary General of Hockey India and unknown others for allegedly committing illegalities for renovation and furnishing of the office of President of IOA. The accused were identified as Narinder Dhruv Batra (former President of IOA), Cdr RK Srivastava (former Executive Director of Hockey), Rajinder Singh (former President of HI) and Mohd Mushtaque Ahmad (former Secretary General of HI). It was alleged that during 2018, the then President and then Secretary General of Hockey India Delhi in alleged conspiracy with then President of IOA Delhi and then Executive Director of Hockey India Delhi got executed the work of renovation and furnishing of the office of then President of IOA, without prior approval of Executive Board of Hockey India, said a statement issued here by IOA.

It was further alleged that in order to justify and cover up the fraudulent expenditure at approval stage, the accused fabricated and falsified the records.Searches were conducted on Monday at offices of HI and IOA at Delhi, residential premises of the accused at Delhi and Jammu, which led to recovery of incriminating documents and records, added the statement, stating that investigation was underway.
