Police busts gang involved in fake Visa, Passport

New Delhi, July 14 (Bureau) Delhi Police claimed to have busted a gang who used to make forged Visa and Passport for gangsters by using fake documents. They allegedly helped Sachin Thapan, who is nephew of Lawrence Bishnoi an accused in murder of Singer Sidhu Moosewala, in making his fake passport. The five members of the gang have been arrested and identified as Rahul Sarkar, Navneet Prajapati, Arjit Kumar, Somnath Prajapati and a woman.

They used to facilitate gangsters in escaping from the clutches of the law, said Benita Mary Jaiker, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South district. The police busted a gang, who was in nexus with Lawrence Bishnoi gang. They helped Sachin Thapan and other gangsters in making their passports in fake names by using forged ID’s. Thapan allegedly indulged in conspiracy of murder of Sidhu Moosewala in Punjab, Jaiker added. Acting on a tip-off, police laid a trap near Foot over Bridge at Saket Metro Station in Delhi. After a while, a car was spotted in a suspicious condition.

On pointing out of the informer, the driver of the car was signalled to stop but sensing the police presence, the driver instead of stopping, accelerated and tried to flee from the spot. However, the team intercepted the car and overpowered the occupant. Later on, the occupant was identified as Rahul Sarkar.On interrogation, a clue about his gang was revealed and upon his instance, his accomplices were also arrested, said Jaiker.
