Cong appoints observers for Gujarat, HP

New Delhi, July 12 (Agency) Congress president Sonia Gandhi appointed several party leaders, including Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot as senior observers and observers for the upcoming Assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, a statement said here on Tuesday. According to the communique issued by Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal, Gehlot has been appointed as senior observer of Gujarat, while TS Dingh Deo and Milind Deora have been appointed as observers.

For the Himalayan state, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has been appointed as senior observer, while Sachin Pilot and Pratap Singh Bajwa have been chosen as observers, added the statement. Assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh are slated to be held at the end of this year.
