One held in Vyapam case

New Delhi, June 28 (Agency) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested an absconding accused from Latur district of Maharashtra in a case related to Vyapam, the probe agency said on Tuesday. CBI had registered the case in compliance of the orders passed on July 9, 2015 and September 11, 2015 of the Supreme Court and took over the probe for trial from Madhya Pradesh Police. Earlier on March 3, 2013, an FIR was registered with Ambah Police Station in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh against the accused and a candidate on complaint from the Centre Superintendent of a Higher Secondary School, Ambah, CBI said in a statement here. It was alleged that during the Forest Guard Recruitment Test-2013 held on March 3, 2013, the said accused had appeared in written examination against the original candidate, the statement said.

During investigation, the said accused (an impersonator) was arrested by Police on March 3, 2013 and his specimen finger prints were also taken. A charge sheet was also filed by the Police against the said impersonator and a candidate in the Court of Judicial Magistrate on June 6, 2013. During the trial, the said accused having permanent address in district Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, fled from the Judicial process and Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) was issued against him by the Trial Court, the statement added. CBI visited various places in UP, Jharkhand and Maharashtra in search of the said accused. After strenuous efforts, the agency traced the absconding accused and arrested him from Latur. He was produced before the Additional Session Judge for CBI Cases at Gwalior and remanded to judicial custody.
