Pune, June 26 (FN Agency) Domestic workers are an integral part of our family and even if they don’t come one day, we get upset, says famous cine actress Mrinal Kulkarni . Not only because of housework but also because the whole family has a relationship with these sisters, they have a special significance in each family, she said here Sunday. Actress Kulkarni who also played the main role in recent movie ‘The Kashmir Files’ was speaking at a cultural and social program organised by Famous Pune based organizations Creative Foundation and Sarthi group.

Actress Kulkarni distributed Umbrellas and raincoats to women and others domestic workers on behalf of Creative Foundation and Sarathi Group. The organizations has arranged this programs on occasion of Maharashtra BJP president Chandrakantdada Patil’s birthday. She said a month has been dedicated by the BJP party workers to this service work only. MLA Siddharth Shirole said these women are being honoured with umbrellas and raincoats for their work. Shirole also said domestic workers show the ideal of social harmony in the family. In the rainy season, women domestic workers often go to work without thinking about themselves, which makes them sick, but it also causes them pain. In such a situation, it is our duty to take care of their health, said Pune mayor Murlidhar Mohol. Chandrakantdada Patil who decided not to expend money to celebrate his birthday, instead, he appealed to party workers to distribute umbrellas and raincoats to domestic workers, milkmen, rickshaw pullers, newspaper vendors, said founder of Creative Foundation Manjushri Khardekar. She said we have decided to avoid other expenses.

Everyone should follow the example of Creative Foundation and Sarathi Group, which is doing a great job of helping, said mayor Mohol. Umbrellas and raincoats were distributed to numbers of domestic workers residing in Pune. Manjushree Khardekar and Sunil Pandey explained the role behind the program in the introduction, and also testified that we are always available to help these sisters in any way. BJP spokesperson and Chairman of Creative Foundation Sandeep Khardekar moderated while Abhijit Modak expressed his gratitude.
