Hyderabad, June 23 (Representative) Tollywood Film shooting in and around Hyderabad was badly affected on Wednesday as thousands of cine workers hit the roads demanding 45 per cent in wages. Demanding a hike in wages, a large number of cine workers belonging to the 24 crafts, observed a protest by raising slogans in support of their demand in front of the Telugu Film Industry Employees Federation in Jubilee Hills here. Though the cine workers union claimed that they had already issued strike notice earlier, the film producers denied it and said that they have not received such notices and appealed to the workers to join in shootings.
The union leaders also said they were forced to launch the protest as no steps were taken to meet their demand though they had been discussing the issues with the Telugu Film Chamber for the last six months. About 25 films, which were under production in both indoor and outdoor locations, were affected due to the strike. Meanwhile Telangana Minister for Cinematography Talasani Srinivas Yadav while reacting over the strike, directed the Telugu Film Chamber, Telugu Film Producers Council, and Film Industry Employees Federation to take steps to resolve the issues at the earliest and otherwise, the government will intervene in it.
