Sensex recovers 237.42 points

Mumbai, Jun 20 (FN Agency) The BSE Sensex on Monday recovered 237.42 points at 51,597.84 on the strength of FMCG, Consumer Durable and Technology stocks.The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose 56.65 points at 15,350.15.The Sensex gained 110 points at 51,470 in opening session. It was rallied 354 points at 51,714.61, the days high, before closing at 51,597.84 from its previous close.It dropped 298 points at 51,062.93, the days low.The Sensex registered the days high and low at 51,714.61 and 51,062.93 points respectively.The Nifty recorded the days high and low at 15,382.50 and 15,191.10 points respectively.

The sectoral indices like FMCG, Consumer Durable and Technology stocks pushed the Sensex up.In scrips, Hind Unilever was a top gainer up 3.94 per cent to Rs 2195.75, followed by HDFC by 3.84 per cent to Rs 2131.65, Wipro by 3.13 per cent to Rs 417.90, Ultracemco by 3.13 per cent to Rs 5339.75 and Asian Paints by 2.13 per cent to Rs 2653.70.The losers were Tata Steel by 4.56 per cent to Rs 865.50, IndusInd Bank by 2.60 per cent to Rs 786, Reliance Industries by 1.84 per cent to Rs 341.55 and M& M by 1.57 per cent to Rs 982.20.The Mid Cap fell by 1.39 per cent and Small Cap by 2.95 per cent.In 30 scrips, 17 advanced while 13 declined.
