Hamirpur (HP), June 19 (FN Agency) Following an announcement by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi during the recently concluded conference of Chief Secretaries at Dharamshala to fill vacant posts lying in all departments in all parts of India, the Himachal Pradesh government has sought compile details of the vacant posts, officials informed on Sunday. Highly placed sources in the state government told UNI that about forty-five percent of the posts are lying vacant in various departments of the state and the HP Chief Secretary has sought information from all the heads of departments about the vacant posts. A letter has been written to the departments on behalf of the CS office, in which the details of the functional posts lying vacant in various departments have been asked to be given to the government soon.
It is worth mentioning that during the Chief Secretary’s conference in Dharamsala, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had asked all the states to fill the vacant posts in government departments by marking them. According to the information, details of vacant posts have been sought from Health, Education, Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Child Welfare Department and Rural Development Department so that the government can start the process of filling these posts. The worst affected is the department of power where more than twenty-five thousand posts of various categories are lying vacant and more were also lying vacant as a large number of employees were going to be retired this year.
It is said that the Chief Minister, Jai Ram Thakur might hold a cabinet meeting shortly to announce details for the filling of vacant posts in different departments so as to garner the support of the people in wake of the coming Vidhan Sabha elections in the state that could be held either in the month of October or November this year. However, in some departments, the work is going on with the help of the outsourced employees but those employees are also unhappy with their working conditions and are aggrieved for not having a regular policy for them. They want their regularization on the analogy of the regular employees. And if the government starts work on the recruitment of staff through HP Public service commission or HP staff service commission, it will help the unemployed youth to solve their problems of unemployment and give them fiscal relief.
