India’s power getting established on world stage: President

Kanpur Dehat (UP), June 3 (FN Representative) President Ram Nath Kovind on Friday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that the country has got a PM under whose leadership India’s power is getting established on the world stage. On the arrival of Prime Minister Modi in his ancestral village setting aside the protocol of the country’s highest Constitutional role, President Kovind appeared in the role of host. He went to the helipad to welcome the PM.

Referring to this during the event in the President’s ancestral village, PM Modi said that bypassing the protocol is the result of the values in the nature of the President of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ (a guest is like God). Modi said, “The values that the President has received from the soil of Parakh is being watched by the world. He surprised me when he set aside the protocol and came to receive me at the helipad. I was feeling very embarrassed. When I said this, he said that I have come here to welcome the guest, I am welcoming as a resident of the village. I salute the President for the values of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’.” After visiting the village with Prime Minister Modi, the President during a special public meeting thanked the PM for coming to his ancestral village and also whole heartedly praised his leadership. The President referred to the statement made by the PM while interacting with the Indians during his visit to Japan in which Modi had said ‘I enjoy drawing lines on stones and not on butter’.

Kovind said that all the countrymen are proud of a son like Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Today, under his leadership, India’s power has been established on the world stage. Modi is such a Prime Minister who always tries to make the life of everyone in the country comfortable. He said that Modi is realising the vision envisaged by the architect of the Constitution Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar of an all-inclusive and equitable country and society. The works being done by the PM towards realising the dreams of Baba Saheb are exemplary, he said. Kovind said it is the sign of the generosity and kindness of the PM that he has come to meet the people of a village like Paraunkh and it is the power of the soil of the village that called him here. He said, “Whenever I come to my motherland, I simply apply the soil of the village on my forehead as a part of worshipping the power of the mother. We have also seen that PM Modi has great faith in the power of the mother. Whatever we are today it is due to the blessings of the motherland and power of the mother.” He gave credit to PM Modi for his election to the post of President. Getting emotional, he said that it was Modi, who took the initiative, to give the responsibility of the highest constitutional post of the country to a common man like him from a small village in UP.

He said that earlier it was said that not a single President was made from UP, which gave nine Prime Ministers to the country. Sharing a memoir, the President said that around 50 to 55 years ago Dr Ram Manohar Lohia had arrived in Paraunkh as a politician. He said that it was the first time when he himself and many villagers like him saw a jeep. Today, after the arrival of the PM the people here have become a witness to a rare historical event, he said. Prior to this, the President, the PM, Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered prayers at Pathri Mata Temple located in the village. During this, the President and the PM also paid floral tributes on the statue of Baba Saheb at Dr BR Ambedkar Bhawan. After this, President Kovind along with PM Modi, Governor and the CM reached his ancestral house ‘Milan Kendra’. The President’s ancestral residence has been donated for public and social programs. At the Milan Kendra, the President and the PM met the women of self-help groups. They inquired about their work and encouraged them. The women of the group presented their products to the President and the PM.
