CBI arrests three persons including RITES’s employees in an alleged bribery case

New Delhi, June 3 (Agency) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday arrested three people including General Manager (project) and Senior Deputy General Manager (project), both of Rail India Technical and Economic Service Limited (RITES) in an alleged bribery case. On June 2, a case was registered against a GM (project and a Sr DGM (project), both of RITES, Ranchi, two private persons including owner of pvt company based at Deoghar (Jharkhand) and unknown others on the allegations that the accused conspired together for collection of alleged illegal gratification to the public servants in the matter of the tender awarded to Joint Venture (JV) company, CBI, in a statement, said.

It was also alleged that the employee of a private company handed over the undue advantage to Senior DGM and alleged bribe money was subsequently handed over to the GM. An alleged bribe amount of Rs 2.72 lakh was recovered from the possession of GM. All the three accused were caught by CBI, the statement said. Searches were conducted at 12 places including Ranchi, Patna, Deoghar, Gurgaon, and Ramgarh at the premises of the accused which led to recovery of cash of Rs 65.5 Lakh, property documents and other incriminating documents, the statement said. All the three arrested accused were produced before the Court today and were remanded to police custody.
