BJP appoints in-charges for RS polls in 4 states

New Delhi, June 1 (Agency) The BJP on Wednesday appointed election in-charges for the forthcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Rajasthan, Haryana, Karnataka and Maharashtra, and Assembly bypolls in Tripura. According to a communique issued by the BJP, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has been appointed as party’s election in-charge for Rajasthan, Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for Haryana, Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy for Karnataka and Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for Maharashtra.

For the Tripura bye-elections, the saffron party appointed its national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, Assam Minister Ashok Singhal and Political Secretary to Chief Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah as poll incharges. The names of the incharges were approved by BJP national president JP Nadda, as per the statement. Elections for 57 seats in the Upper House in 15 states including Rajasthan, Haryana, Karnataka and Maharashtra will be held on June 10, while the assembly bypolls in four seats of Tripura on June 23.
