May 22 (Agency) The All-India Senior Selection Committee of Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) on Sunday picked an 18-member squad for the upcoming five-match T20I home series against South Africa. The selection committee has also named India’s 17-member Test squad for the 5th rescheduled Test against England to be played at Edgbaston, Birmingham from July 1-5. India currently leads the Test series 2-1. India all-format captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are among the senior players to be rested for the five-match T20I series against South Africa next month. KL Rahul has been named the captain of the 18-man T20 side. Jammu and Kashmir speed sensation Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh got maiden India call-ups. Cheteshwar Pujara, who was dropped for the home Test series against Sri Lanka, has returned to the squad for the rescheduled Test against England.
Ravindra Jadeja, who was ruled out of IPL 2022 due to rib injury, is also part of the 17-man touring party.
