New Delhi, May 16 (Agency) Congress on Monday demanded Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to call for a special session of Delhi Assembly and pass a resolution against the ‘anti-encroachment’ drive being carried out by the BJP-ruled Municipal Corporations of Delhi. “Arvind Kejriwal, who used to call special sessions of the Assembly to discuss even trivial issues, should call a special session of the Delhi ? Assembly and pass a resolution against the ‘bulldozer politics’ of the BJP-ruled MCDs,” Delhi Congress chief Anil Chaudhary said. He accused that BJP, in collusion with the Chief Minister, were sending notices to the poor people, threatening them with demolition of their houses and shops, terming them as unauthorised constructions. Leaders of both the parties are extorting money from these poor people, with the false promise of saving their structures, Chaudhary alleged. “The bulldozer politics of BJP and AAP have ruined the livelihood of over five lakh street vendors and rehri-patriwallas, who live in the JJ Clusters. These clusters are under Delhi government’s Urban Slum Improvement Board,” he claimed. Chaudhary further said that the then Congress Government, in an effort to provide relief and security to the poor people, had passed the Delhi Urban Slum Improvement Board (DUSIB) Act in 2010.
