Cong slams Centre over CNG price rise, terms it ‘fuel loot’

New Delhi, May 15 (Representative) Congress General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala on Sunday slammed the centre over the price rise of CNG and termed it “fuel loot”. “Another blow of inflation on the people on Sunday,” he tweeted. On Sunday, the Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has hiked the price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) by Rs 2 per kg in Delhi-NCR, with effect from 0600 hours.

“The new installment of #FuelLoot again today #CNG Rs 2.00/Kg increased further. In the last 2 months the prices of CNG increased by Rs 16.60 /kg in 11 installments. Inflation, which has broken the record of 8 years, will wreak more havoc now!” Surjewala said. With the latest hike, CNG is now priced at Rs 73.61 per kg in Delhi, Rs 76.17 per kg in Noida, and Rs 81.94 in Gurugram.
