New Delhi, May 2 (Representative) Approaching a major landmark on its development journey, it has been 1,500 days since Elder Scrolls 6 was announced with an ultra vague teaser trailer and absolutely no information on the role-playing video game. So as of now we are completely in the dark regarding several questions such as what happened to the Dragonborn from the last game and whether there will be another Dovahkin/Dragonborn in the next game able to use Dragon Shouts and ‘Fus Ro Dah’ enemies; what has been the canonical outcome of the war, did the Imperial Legion win or was it the Stormcloaks, what happened to the Dragons, what happened to the Thalmor in the realm of Skyrim and what’s in store for Tamriel as a whole. If anything, the situation has only gotten more nebulous with Xbox’s acquisition of Bethesda, which seemingly rules out the possibility of the game coming to the PS5, though this hasn’t been outright confirmed yet. Unfortunately, for Elder Scrolls fans, Bethesda Game Studios still isn’t talking about the game, and it’s unlikely this is going to change until Starfield is out. That said, there are new rumours in town about the game. The rumours pertain to leaks of a bunch of new information primarily related to the setting though it also relays the game’s release date or Bethesda’s latest plans.
Furthermore, according to the rumours the plan is to get the game out sometime between 2025 and 2026, which would be three to four years following the release of Starfield. And this window makes sense if the game is still in the early stages of development like previous updates have suggested and if the bulk of Bethesda Game Studios is going to be focused on Starfield until this November. If the game does release in this window, then it may not be a cross-gen release, which means the player will either need an Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, or a PC to play it. Of course, the game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass, so if that comes to any more platforms, then it would also be available on those platforms as well, but there have been no rumblings of this happening, at least not recently. Last but not least, a report has come out which states that The Elder Scrolls VI may take place in Hammerfell, and it will come with mechanics like a political system and more. On their Twitter profile, SKULLZI, who has proven to be reliable in the past when it comes to Bethesda rumours, shared a report coming from an anonymous but credible source about The Elder Scrolls VI and some other projects in the works at the publisher. Speaking about The Elder Scrolls VI, the report says that the game will be set in Hammerfell and will have a political system.
Betrayals, marriage, and factions will also play some role in the game, which is currently targeting a 2025, 2026 release date. Interestingly enough, it states that the game will not feature dragons. The report also goes over other The Elder Scrolls projects. Apparently, series remasters, as well as Fallout series remasters are currently in the works by inXile Entertainment, as well as a potential 4X strategy game. After SKULLZI shared their report, another reliable insider, Shpeshal Nick, confirmed that the report aligns almost perfectly with what he knows, with the exception of the lack of dragons in The Elder Scrolls VI. He wrote on his Twitter account “If it helps, Skullzi’s ES6 info aligns almost perfectly with everything I’ve been told about it. Except the dragon stuff. That hasn’t been mentioned to me. Also got the Remasters confirmed to me just now Good to see others hearing about Quake Reboot and Project Wyrmwood too” As for the rumours, they should still be taken with a grain of salt as the game is still in its early phases of development. Even if the information is accurate, it doesn’t mean it will stay this way. The game could be scheduled to release during this window, but a lot can change in three to four years.
