New Delhi, April 23 (Agency) Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Saturday took a dig at the Centre after the retail inflation rate surged to 6.95 per cent in March and accused the government of “looting” the people. “Inflation Rate: 6.95 per cent. FD (fixed deposit) interest rate: 5 per cent. Forget depositing 15 lakh to your bank accounts, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘masterstrokes’ have demolished your hard-earned savings,” he tweeted along with the hashtag ‘Jan Dhan Loot Yojana’. In the 2014 general elections, Modi had promised to deposit Rs 15 lakh in everyone’s bank account by bringing back black money stashed abroad.
