New Delhi, April 21 (Agency) The people of Delhi may get some relief from the scorching heat as the India Meteorological Department predicted light rain and drizzle on Thursday. As per IMD the maximum temperature is likely to settle around 38 degree Celsius during the day time. “The sky will remain cloudy with light rain and thunderstorm with winds gusting up to 40 kilometers per hour” said the IMD.
“On April 23 and 24, Delhi might have witnessed strong surface wind during the day” IMD forecast said. The city has so far recorded seven days of continuous heatwave conditions this month. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature on Thursday morning was recorded at 25.8 degree celsius, three notches above the season’s average. On Wednesday, the city witnessed heatwave conditions and the maximum temperature was recorded at 41.2 degree Celsius. The weather agency said after short relief the mercury will rise again to 42 degrees Celsius by next week.
