Rampur (UP), April 20 (Representative) Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) president Jayant Chaudhary on Wednesday accused the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh of using bulldozers without following legal procedure and termed it not only as inhumane but also illegal. Talking to the reporters after meeting with the family of local MLA and senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Mohammad Azam Khan, Jayant said, “The bulldozer of the Yogi government is illegal. Its inhumane because in the system even a criminal has the right to be heard.” On the question of displeasure of Azam’s family with SP president Akhilesh Yadav, RLD president said that he had a conversation with them in a good atmosphere.
“They are angry with the system. Though there is no point of me giving a clarification on this issue,” he said. It may be noted that Azam Khan is currently lodged in jail in connection with several criminal cases and is facing legal screening. In the assembly election while Azam was elected from Rampur Sadar seat, his son Abdullah Azam was elected MLA from Suar seat. After polls Azam decided to resign from the Lok Sabha and retain his assembly seat. On AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s invitation to Azam to join his party, Jayant said, “I don’t think it’s proper that I should say anything on it.” On the question of the turmoil in the Samajwadi Party, he said that this is not a protest. It is only despair from the system and the fight will be fought by removing it, he said.
