New Delhi, March 29 (Agency) The government will come up with global market intelligence network to help MSME firms corner bigger share of the export pie, Union Minister for MSME Narayan Rane said here on Tuesday. Speaking at a seminar organised Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), he said that the focus of the government is to help micro firms to grow to become small and small firms to become medium.
The Minister noted that the government has come out with package to revive MSME sector. “Our focus is on providing easy credit, better technology, support and access to the export market. We want our MSME sector to become competitive and grow in the era of globalisation,” he said. Rane asked all the stakeholders in the MSME space to chart out a roadmap for strengthening the competitiveness of the sector. Rane emphasised on the significance of MSMEs in the GDP of the country. He said that for a long time MSMEs have been working with minimum resources and yet making a significant contribution to the GDP. “It is, therefore, necessary that these growth accelerators are handheld and strengthened. In this direction, there has definitely been significant collective efforts to strengthen the sector. Various schemes of the government are directed towards opening up new avenues for MSMEs,” he said.
