Kolkata, March 23 (FN Bureau) EEPC India chairman Mahesh Desai on Wednesday lauded the government’s critical support system during pandemic for the growth of India’s exports to the tune of USD 400billion in FY22 despite the global trade plummeting owing to Covid19. “As pandemic hit the economies across the world hard leading to global trade plummeting to a record low, it seemed the spell of uncertainty could stretch longer than expected.
But as the economies bounced back, the exports sector has remained a key growth driver. The government’s support has been critical all through the pandemic and helped the industry tide over the crisis,” Desai stated in a statement. The various measures taken by the government not only ensured recovery but also sustained growth month after month, he maintained. The top priority accorded to the sector by the Prime Minister made sure that all the stakeholders moved in unison to chase the USD 400 billion goods exports target for FY22.
