Shimla, Mar 9 (Bureau) Himachal Pradesh Government informed the House on Wednesday that after completing the investigation two chargesheet have been filed in the court taking action on the fake degree cases in the three private universities of the state as five cases have been registered under various sections of IPC and IT Act. Replying to a written query raised by the Ram Lal Thakur (Shri Naina Deviji) about fake degree scam Education Minister Govind Thakur said in the context of fake degree scam in the state, three FIR has registered at Police station Dharampur against the Manav Bharati University, Solan under sections 420,467,468,471,120-B Dharampur district, Solan.
Minister informed that under secS 465,467,468,471, 120-B and 201 under IPC, a case was lodged against the APG University, Shimla in the Police Station, Bharadi, in Shimla district and under secs. 465,467,468,471 and 34 of IPC and 66 IT Act against the IEC University Kalujhanda, Barotiwala Solan district at Police Station Barotiwala on the basis of a complaint. Minsiter said out of the above five cases investigation have been completed in two cases and chargesheet has been filed and matter is under consideration of the court. Minister also informed that investigation in rest three cases being conducted by the SIT of state police. No case of recruitment in the government jobs were found on the basis of such fake degrees however investigation is going on in this regard, he added.
