Mumbai, March 8 (Bureau) The Income Tax (I-T) department on Tuesday conducted searches at the premises of Shiv Sena (SS) leader Rahul Kanal in Mumbai, official familiar with the matter said. The raid was carried out in connection with the alleged tax evasion case.
A team of I-T sleuths raided the Bandra residence of Kanal, who is also the trustee of Shirdi Sansthan and close ally to Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray. Apart from Kanal, the houses of Bajrang Kharmate and Sanjay Kadam, two associates of Transport Minister and Shiv Sena leader Anil Parab, have also been raided. Further details are awaited.
