New Delhi, March 7 (FN Agency) In a major jolt to the Congress’ dream of forming the government again in Punjab, the C-Voter exit poll has predicted Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to receive a majority of seats in the 2022 Assembly polls. The survey predicted AAP to win between 51 to 61 seats, while the incumbent Congress may have to be satisfied with 21-28 seats. Meanwhile, the survey also predicted a neck-to-neck fight between the Congress, which is struggling to form the government again in 2022 and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), which the Congress had rooted out of incumbency in the previous Assembly polls.
According to the C-Voter post poll survey of Punjab, SAD is predicted to get seats anywhere between 20 and 26. Meanwhile, its ally in the state and the coalition partner from 2012-207, Bharatiya Janata Party is projected to win 7-13 seats. The SAD–BJP coalition had won the Punjab Legislative Assembly election for two consecutive terms from 2007 till 2017. So far, only AAP seems to have receive a majority government in the C-Voter’s exit poll of Punjab.
