Biren said in the second phase poll on March 5 out of 22 seats BJP will get 10 to 15 seats. Hence the BJP will be able to form the second consecutive government in Manipur by getting an absolute majority, he said. Biren said full reports from all the 38 constituencies have not arrived yet and there is the possibility of the BJP winning even in 30 seats out of 38, he said.

Considering the mood of the people there is a possibility of the BJP getting 42 seats out of 60, he said. Addressing a public meeting at Khangabok, Thoubal district, N Biren said people of Manipur know the contributions made by the BJP government in the centre and the state and they have extended gratitude to the BJP by casting their votes to BJP. He said the police was harassing people, forcing people to jump on the roads for not having documents earlier. There were lots of divisions among the people but now with the concept of one nation, a united Manipur of the BJP, differences between the people have been ironed out.

Biren said people were able to sleep well during the last five years of BJP rule as there was absolute peace in the state. He further said the Congress candidate, Haokip of Saitu was arrested on Monday for allegedly damaging the EVM. The Congress party has alleged that Haokip was arrested while complaining against the actions of the BJP workers. Haokip was not allowed to meet his counsel and was kept at Imphal police station. He further said other political parties were claiming that they were putting up educated candidates but we don’t need representatives who damage EVM. Biren said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP government did wonderful work during the Covid pandemic. If people were not given 5 kg rice and given Covid vaccines free of cost, Manipur would have seen so many casualties.
