Mumbai, Feb 17 (Agency) Income Tax (I-T) department on Thursday carried out searches on premises linked to former National Stock Exchange (NSE) MD and CEO Chitra Ramakrishna and group operating officer Anand Subramanian. Confirming the development, a senior I-T official told UNI that the search operations were made with regards to financial irregularities and tax evasion case against them.
“Details of findings could be shared later,” the official said. Ramakrishna has been in the dock for allegations of misgovernance in the country’s leading stock exchange NSE. Market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) last week found issues of governance and lapses while she was at the helm.
