Law and order on the top of agenda, CM instructs for action to control crime

Patna, Feb 9 (FN Agency) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday reiterated that law and order were on the top of his agenda and instructed the authorities to initiate all possible measures to control crime. While reviewing the law and order and implementation of prohibition in a high-level meeting during the day, Kumar said that crime control measures should not be neglected at any cost. He asked to intensify the night patrolling under the monitoring of the senior officers. Taking serious note of the land-related disputes, he asked the District Magistrates and Police Superintendents to monthly hold meetings for disposal of the cases. He also asked the SDO and SDPO as well as circle officers and officers in charge to regularly hold meetings for early disposal of the land-related cases.

The Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of the police and administration in controlling the communal incidents and asked them to maintain alertness. He also asked the senior officers to conduct flying inspections during the night to maintain law and order. Speaking about the prohibition, the chief minister asked the authorities to keep special eyes on Patna and take stern action to identify the trouble mongers. Kumar also asked the district magistrates to remain alert to prevent hooch and take action against those involved in it. For this, he asked to use Drone, motorboat, canine squads and other modern techniques to nab the liquor mafias. He said that only a handful of people were indulged in such activities. He also suggested promoting Neera (Palm juice) which is more healthy. Through their separate PowerPoint presentations, the additional Director General headquarter, Additional Director General Special Branch, Additional Director General Law and Order apprised the Chief Minister about the steps initiated for maintaining law and order and to control crime. The Additional Chief Secretary Excise and Registration department K.K Pathak also apprised the chief minister about the details of the measures adopted towards execution of prohibition across the state.
