Patiala, Jan 28 (Bureau) Former opposition leader and Punjab Congress candidate Sukhpal Singh Khaira was released from the Patiala jail on Friday after getting bail from the Punjab and Haryana High Court in a money laundering case. Khaira expressed his gratitude to his party, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other colleagues who supported him. He said he will file his nomination on Monday.
Khaira said he was innocent and accused the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Aam Aadmi Party of conspiring against him. Khaira, who joined the Congress some months back, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on November 11 in a case of money laundering. He was in judicial custody.
