They asserted, “The Modi government, which had promised ‘Acche Din’ before the elections, has in fact made life difficult for the common man. Rising fuel and gas prices have messed up the kitchen budgets.”

“Hence, the central government has proved to be a damper in the enthusiasm of women during the Makar Sankranti festival,” they underscored. They further said, “PM Modi made a big event with the announcement of free gas cylinder to women under the ‘Ujjwala Yojana’. But now with the huge increase in the price of gas cylinders, women cannot afford to buy them.” “Most of the beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme have now done away with the cylinders and women are once again cooking on the stove,” they told.
