With huge expressways,India can’t be stopped from becoming super eco power: Rajnath

Lucknow ,Jan 5 (Representative) Defence minister and Lucknow MP Rajnath Singh on Wednesday said with construction of such large number of expressways and road infrastructure, no one can stop the country from becoming a super economic power in the world. “ Before 2014, the country used to construct maximum 5 kilometers of highways in a day but today the speed has accelerated several times and it has gone up to 40 kms per day. Good roads are the main component of economic booster and India is following the same pattern,” he said. Addressing a function here on Wednesday in the presence of Union Road and transport minister Nitin Gadkari and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath after laying foundations and inaugurating 821 kms of roads worth over Rs 26,778 , Mr Singh appreciated both Mr Gadkari and Yogi Adityanath for their efforts to construct such large numbers of expressways and roads in UP .

Mr Singh claimed that Mr Gadkari has done impossible things in clearing all the road projects in the state besides the Gati Shakti programme of Rs 100 lakh crores has infused all the required funds. “ Yogi jee has bulldozed all the obstructions coming before any highway projects while improving law and order and by taking strict steps against mafias and criminals ,” he said. He said before 2017 there was just one expressway in the state but now another one, Poorwanchal has been added and three more will be completed soon which include Bundelkhand expressway, Gorakhpur link expressway and Ganga expressway. Mr Singh said launching of the Kanpur- Lucknow expressway will enhance the economy of the state besides giving boost to the Defence Manufacturing corridor. The new 63 kms Greenfield expressway between Lucknow and Kanpur will be constructed at a cost of Rs 4270 crores. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath too said his government has not delayed any road projects in the state and the double engine government had done everthing to expedite the works. He claimed that the road projects inaugurated and others whose foundation were laid today will certainly give a big boost to the state’s economy.
