Saharanpur, Jan 4 (FN Agency) Laying foundation of an Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) commando training center and launching a slew of development projects of nearly Rs 200 crores here on Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that maintaining law and order across the state was never the priority of the previous governments, all they cared about was their own benefits and handed over the state to criminals and terrorists. “Earlier, cases against terrorists used to be withdrawn. The rioters, criminals and terrorists used to be rewarded by the previous governments at their official residence, however, today, we are setting up ATS centers to improve the law and order situation in the state and boost its development,” said Yogi Adityanath, adding that, “We always worked with our policy of ‘zero-tolerance’ against crime and criminals since Day 1.” In a fierce attack on the Samajwadi Party Chief over his claims of building the Ram Temple in a year, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that even chameleons would be ashamed of how the opposition changes their stance and statements based on seeking advantage. “It is shameful how blatantly the opposition changes their statements when it comes to seeking advantages.
After criticising Ram Janmabhoomi movement for years, and opening fire at the devotees of Lord Rama, Akhilesh Yadav claims he would have built the Ram Mandir in a year,” said the CM. ‘Girgit bhi sharma jaayega itni jaldi vipaksh ko apna rang aur swar badalte dekh,’ he remarked. In a move to strengthen the security apparatus of the state, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath laid the foundation stone of the much-awaited Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) Commando Training Centre in Deoband town of Saharanpur District. Straddling over 2000 sq mts, the center will provide training to around 100 commandos who will keep a hawk-eyed vigil in the communally sensitive region of west UP. The UP government plans to set up such ATS center at other places also, including Meerut, Bahraich, Shravasti, and GB Nagar. Yogi Adityanath reiterated that riots had become a thing of the past in the state and cited a ‘riot-free’ UP over the past 5 years of his rule. “Rioters are now aware that if they are found involved, even their seven generations will fail to repay the damages caused due to their act,” Yogi said to applause amid the masses. He went on to say that, “Those who used to spread fear among people are now visiting police stations and are begging for mercy while bulldozers are razing down the properties of mafiosos and their henchmen.” Today, when bulldozers run over the chests of these land mafiosos, the criminals run away but their leaders feel troubled. They did not feel bad when the land of the poor, or of a common person was grabbed by the gangsters and criminals.
Action has been taken against every person who conspired to play with the dignity and the integrity of the state, he added. Yogi Adityanath said that under his regime, those who had forced people to migrate from Kairana, have themselves migrated out of the state and the rule of law has compelled them to set up vegetable and fruit carts. “Between 2017, several families in Kairana had migrated due to threats of extortion. However, in my regime, those who forced others to leave Kairana, have now left the place because they know that they will have to pay dearly for their misdeeds,” he said. Lashing out at the previous SP and BSP governments for their failure in establishing a strict law and order system in the state, the CM remarked, “Muzaffarmagar, Jawaharbagh ke dange aur Kairana ka palayan humare liye rajneeti ke mudde nahi balki desh aur pradesh ki shaan pe aanch aane waale mudde hain.” He went on to say that previously, the youth of the state had to suffer from an “identity crisis”, however today, efforts have been made to make them stand at par with the youth of other states. “Along with ensuring the safety and security of the state, the youth of the state has also been provided with tablets and smartphones to aid them in online examinations, online education and online competitions,” the CM said. Taking a jibe at Akhilesh Yadav, the CM said Saharanpur used to be far away for earlier governments, which is why our former Chief Minister hardly paid any visit to the place. For me, Saharanpur holds the same importance as the state capital Lucknow. The Chief Minister also inaugurated dozens of new fire stations across the state today apart from inaugurating and laying foundation stones for many development projects in Saharanpur.
