Srinagar, Dec 29 (Agency) The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday arrested a Patwari of Halqa Kathwar and his agent for accepting bribe of Rs one lakh for mutation of land records in central Kashmir’s Budgam district. Patwari Halqa Kathwar, Khansahib Raja Mudasir Ali Khan and his agent Nawaz Hussain Mir while allegedly demanding and accepting bribe of Rs one Lakh for mutation of land records in central Kashmir’s Budgam district. A spokesman of ACB said they received a complaint, alleging that Khansahib Raja Mudasir Ali Khan was demanding Rs one lakh as bribe for transfer of land in favour of the maternal cousins of the complainant.
“On receipt of the complaint, a case was registered and investigation was taken up,” he said. “During the course of investigation, a trap team was constituted by ACB, which successfully caught the patwari red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs 10,000 cash and a cheque of Rs 90,000 from the complainant through an agent, identified as Nawaz Hussain Mirm resident of Khanpora Budgam. Accused Raja Mudasir Ali Khan, along with agent Nawaz Hussain Mir, were arrested on the spot,” the spokesman said. During search of the personal vehicle of the accused, Rs 82,000 was also recovered and seized. Search was also conducted at the house of the accused public servant, he added. Further investigation into the case is going on, said the ACB.
