Phagwara, Dec 26 (Agency) Three unidentified armed and masked robbers kidnap an employee of a money exchanger and snatched a bag containing lakhs of rupees from him before throwing him from the car of the robbers near Goraya on Saturday night. The Victim Shankar Maini employee of Pankal Enterprises Hoshiarpur told the police that he came to Phagwara to deliver the money to the customers but as soon as he reached near Goal Chowk, three unidentified persons posing themselves as CIA staff members asked him to sit in their car and drove towards Goraya.
He said when he resisted they put him forcibly in the car snatched his bag full of lakhs of rupees and threw down him from the car near Goraya and sped away. SSP Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh said on Sunday that on a complaint lodged by the owner of Money Exchanger Puneet Sood of Hoshiarpur the police have registered a case against three unknown persons. However neither the victim Shankar nor his employer Puneet could explain the details of looted money. The police have sounded an alert and investigating the matter in details from each and every angle told Mr Khakh. Unconfirmed sources claimed that looted money was more than Rs 45 Lakhs but the police are investigating.
