New Delhi, Dec 22 (Agency) After the historic silver medal finish at the BWF World Championships, Kidambi Srikanth is back in the top 10 world rankings. The 28 year-old shuttler jumped four spots to the 10th position with 69,158 points after playing 35 tournaments. Laksya Sen, who claimed his maiden world championships medal after winning a bronze, improved to 17th place with 61,747 ranking points. HS Prannoy jumped from 32nd to 26th position with 49,585 points. The 2019 bronze medallist Sai Praneeth, who suffered an early exit from the showpiece tournament, slipped to the 18th position.
In the women’s singles, ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu saw no change in her ranking as she remained at the 7th position with 90,994 points in 31 tournaments. In the men doubles, the star duo Satwik Sairaj and Chirag Shetty remained in the top 10 but slipped one place to the 10th position. The experienced women’s doubles pair of Ashwini Ponappa and Sikki Reddy was in top 20 with 50,306 points. The Indian shuttlers will next be seen in action at the BWF world tour India Open Suoer 500 series, which is scheduled to take place January 11-16, 2022, in New Delhi.
