BJP slams Akhilesh for jibe on PM Modi

New Delhi, Dec 13 (Representative) Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav stirred a controversy on Monday as he took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying people should stay in Varanasi when the ‘end is near’. “People stay in Kashi when the end is near,” the Samajwadi Party leader said on Monday. His comment drew flak from Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, who slammed the Samajwadi Party for making the unsavoury comment.

“It is a brutal statement, it’s cruel to say something like this. It shows their mentality,” Joshi said. “Those who opposed Ram Temple, and fired on people, are now scared and jealous, therefore making such statements,” he said. Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal slammed the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister for having the mentality of “Jinnah and Aurangzeb”. “It’s the same mentality that ordered firing on Kar Sevaks. It’s the mentality of Aurangzeb who destroyed the Kashi Vishwanath temple,” he said. BJP’s IT cell head Amit Malviya said Akhilesh Yadav is scared of defeat. “Akhilesh can see his loss in elections and has lost his mental balance,” Malviya said. The comments came as PM Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the new Kashi Vishwanath Corridor.
