Mumbai, Dec 10 (FN Agency) Snapping a gaining streak of last three sessions, the BSE Sensex on Friday declined nominally by 20.46 pts to settle at 58,786.67 on profit booking by local operators. The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too eased 5.55 pts at 17,511.30. The equity market was volatile during the day, as it slipped 111 pts to open at 58,696.71. During the day, it was dropped nearly 393 pts to 58,414.76, days low. In late trade, it was recovered but ended in red at 58,786.67, down by 20.46 pts from its previous close. Meanwhile, it rose 52 pts to 58,859.91, days high. The Sensex registered day’s high and low at 58,859.91 and 58,414.76 respectively. The Nifty recorded days high and low at 17,534.35 and 17,405.25 pts respectively.
The sectoral indices like Consumer Durable, Bankex and Technology stocks dragged the market. As Consumer Durable by 0.28 pc, Bankex by 0.08 pc and Technology by 0.02 pc. In scrips, Titan was a major loser, slipped by 1.54 pc to Rs 2337. Other losers were HDFC by 1.19 pc to Rs 2808.10, Axis Bank by 0.94 pc to Rs 687.50, Kotak Bank by 0.76 pc to Rs 1897 and Bharti Airtel by 0.63 pc to Rs 709.40. The gainers were Asian Paints by 3.03 pc to Rs 3275, SBI by 1.27 pc to Rs 494.80, M& M by 0.70 pc to Rs 857 and Bajaj Finserv by 0.69 pc to Rs 17,716.80. The Mid Cap rose by 0.39 pc and Small Cap by 0.85 pc. In 30 scrips, 11 advanced while 19 declined. Even, Asian market was also seen weak, as Nikkei and Hang Seng were down over a per cent each. Similarly, Kospi and Taiwan declined over 0.5 per cent each.
