Tokyo, Dec 9 (Agency) All podiums used at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics victory ceremonies will be presented to schools, where the Japanese athletes were alumni, and local municipalities that hosted the competitions. The Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee, which launched the Podium Legacy Project on Wednesday, announced that the podiums of all 878 victory ceremonies will be accessible to children and future generations as a legacy of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The project will be carried out from January to March end in 2022. Each podium will be divided into its four component parts and certificates be attached to each, providing information such as the venue and event for which it was used and the medal category.
