I want my film to inspire people to ask fundamental existential questions onfilmmaking

Panaji, Nov 23 (Agency) Film maker Akriti Singh on Tuesday said that she wants her film Eight Down Toofaan Mail to inspire people to ask fundamental existential questions on filmmaking. “I want this film to inspire people to tell their story, not to be bugged down by money or anything. ‘Eight Down Toofaan Mail’ is not a film made with money, but with passion”, she said on the sidelines of the ongoing 52nd International Film Festival of India.

“I want my film to let people ask questions on the changing style of art and the nitty-gritty of new age filmmaking,” she said. Akriti, who is also writer, poet and owner of a theatre company, said the film was a fictional take on a real story and she had taken the seed of the real incident and given it a fictional touch. She said genius in any field inspires her and keeps her going. Eight Down Toofaan Mail is being screened at the IFFI in the Indian Panorama Feature Films section. The film is Akriti Singh’s Directorial Debut.
