Taran Mehedi releases new album Har Har on eve of Guru Nanak Dev’s birthday anniversary

New Delhi, Nov 18 (Agency) On the eve of Guru Nanak Jayanti, DRecords on Thursday announced the release of an album “Har Har” by Taran Mehndi, wife of Pop singer Dalee Mehndi. The seven year old daughter Rabab and Daler Mehndi also feature in the album. “We are celebrating Guru Nanak Patshah ji’s Prakash Gurpurab by singing Gurbani together as a family,” Taran Mehndi said in a statement. Taran Mehndi has chosen a shabad authored by the fifth Nanak Jyot, Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji titled Mayee Ree, which she used to sing to her daughter as a lullaby while Daler Mehndi sings the soulful shabad “Deho Sajan”authored by Guru Nanak Dev Ji, an ardas, a yearning prayer that is all about seeking blessings for the Divine Union of the soul. The album Har Har has two tracks, the first is Har Har (the Creative Infinity Mantra Chant )and the other is the shabad Mayee Ree.

The statement said Taran Mehndi, singer, music composer and founder-CEO at DRecords, is a firm believer in the Divine power and has Gurbani instilled in her soul. “I chose the composition from a child’s perspective, Rababhad easily learnt the shabad in one go because of its tune and pattern. I used to bring to her consciousness, the way Guru Arjan Patshah authored the words, the rhyming of words was fascinating to her young mind and made the GURU closer, approachable like a friend” she said. “Seeing Rabab singing Gurbani gives me more happiness. I wish that Guru Nanak Maharaj showers blessings and love on both the singers and the listeners” Taran said. The music of the shabad has been arranged by Amarpreet Singh and Haider Ali. Har Har is composed by Daler Mehndi and music arranged by Late Hemant Sharma.
