Smriti Irani’s novel ‘Lal Salaam’ to release on Nov 29

New Delhi, Nov 17 (Representative) Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Zubin Irani on Wednesday announced the publication of her debut novel, ‘Lal Salaam’. Taking to micro-blogging site twitter, Irani wrote , “A New Chapter Begins ….”. “Unveiling Lal Salaam !,” the Union Minister said in another tweet along with a link (https://amazon.in/Lal-Salaam-Smr) for pre-order purchase. Published by Westland Publications, the novel which is an action-packed thriller that humanises the daily conflicts and ethical dilemmas that are intrinsic to modern life, is slated for release on November 29.

Inspired by the tragic killings of 76 CRPF personnel in Dantewada in April 2010, the book is a tribute to the exceptional men and women who have given a lifetime of service to the country, especially in confronting the challenges in the red corridor, a statement said. Lal Salaam is the story of a young officer, Vikram Pratap Singh, and of the challenges an idealistic law-enforcer faces when the system is steeped in backroom politics and corruption, the release said. It is the gripping tale of a struggle against overwhelming odds, and of men and women who fight these odds with courage, ingenuity and resilience, it added.
